TS Auto Detail — Service Agreement & Liability Waiver

Operated by Tyler Schares · (319) 468-1104 · contact@tsautodetail.com

This Service Agreement and Liability Waiver ("Agreement") covers all detailing services provided by TS Auto Detail, operated by Tyler Schares ("I," "me," or "TS Auto Detail"), to you, the customer. Please read it before you book. When you book a service, you agree to these terms.

1. Services I Provide

TS Auto Detail offers Interior Detail, Exterior Detail, Full Detail (interior and exterior), Liquid Wax, and Full Detail plus Liquid Wax. Depending on the service you choose, the work may include:

  • Vacuuming, interior wipe-down, and window cleaning
  • Pet hair removal
  • Foam hand wash, wheel and tire cleaning, and tire dressing
  • Ceramic spray wax and hand-applied liquid wax

I perform the services quoted to you at booking. Detailing improves a vehicle's condition but doesn't work miracles — some stains, odors, oxidation, and wear may not come out completely, and that isn't a failure to perform the service.

2. Pricing and Payment

The price for your service is the amount quoted when you book. Payment is due in full when the work is finished. I accept cash, Venmo, and Apple Pay.

If you request additional work after the job has started, or the vehicle needs more than the booked service to reach the result you want, that extra work may cost more. I'll quote the added cost and get your OK before doing it.

3. Booking, Cancellations, and No-Shows

You can book from 18 hours up to 45 days ahead. I work Monday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and I'm closed Sunday.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, please give me at least 24 hours' notice so I can offer the slot to someone else. Repeated no-shows or last-minute cancellations may result in my declining to book you again.

4. Cleaning Products and Their Effects

Detailing uses cleaning agents, waxes, and sealants. These are meant for use on vehicles, but you should understand that:

  • Some products can react with certain paints, coatings, plastics, or aftermarket accessories.
  • Minor changes in gloss or finish can occur.

I use appropriate products and reasonable care, but I can't guarantee that every surface will be completely unaffected. You accept the ordinary risks that come with using these products as intended.

5. Pre-Existing Damage

I'm not responsible for damage that was already on your vehicle before I started — scratches, swirls, dents, chips, stains, worn trim, and the like.

Detailing also tends to reveal flaws that dirt, grime, or old wax were hiding, such as fine scratches or dull spots. Making an existing flaw visible is not the same as causing new damage.

6. When Your Vehicle Is at My Location

This section applies only when I take custody of your vehicle at my property. It does not apply to mobile jobs at your location.

While your vehicle is with me, I'll take reasonable care of it. Even so, I'm not responsible for theft, vandalism, fire, hail, severe weather, or other events outside my control.

Please pick up your vehicle within 24 hours after I let you know the work is done. After that:

  • If it isn't picked up within a 24-hour grace period past that deadline, a storage fee of $25 per day applies until you collect it.
  • If the vehicle is left for 30 days or more after I notify you it's ready, and you haven't responded or arranged pickup, I may treat it as abandoned and pursue the remedies available to me under Iowa law.

7. Mobile Service at Your Location

This section applies only to jobs I perform at your location.

For mobile jobs, you agree to provide:

  • Safe, legal access to the vehicle (for example, not blocked in, and parked where I'm permitted to work).
  • A reasonable area for me to work in.

I'm not responsible for damage or problems caused by conditions at your location — for example an uneven or sloped driveway, HOA or parking restrictions, sprinklers, or limited access to water or power. If weather makes it unsafe or impractical to do good work, I may reschedule.

8. Personal Property

Please remove all valuables and personal items from your vehicle before your appointment. I'm not responsible for cash, electronics, or any other personal property that is lost, stolen, or damaged if it's left in the vehicle.

9. Water and Electrical Sensitivity

Detailing involves water and moisture around your vehicle's surfaces. Before I start, please tell me about anything that could be affected, such as:

  • Known leaks or water intrusion
  • Electrical problems, or exposed or aftermarket wiring
  • Aftermarket electronics or any moisture-sensitive areas

If I'm not told about these in advance, I can't be responsible for problems that result from them.

10. Limitation of Liability

If a claim ever arises about my services, my total responsibility to you will not exceed the total amount you paid for that service. This limit is disclosed to you here, before you book, and you agree it is reasonable.

This limit does not apply to gross negligence, recklessness, or willful misconduct on my part. Nothing in this Agreement is intended to waive liability for those.

11. No Commercial Liability Insurance

TS Auto Detail does not carry commercial liability insurance. This means there is no insurance policy to make a claim against if something goes wrong. Any remedy is limited to what this Agreement describes, including the limit in Section 10. By booking, you acknowledge that you understand this and choose to proceed.

12. Photos and Video

I often take before-and-after photos, and sometimes video, of the vehicles I work on, and I may use them to promote TS Auto Detail — for example in the gallery on my website or on social media. I do not publish your name or any personal information alongside these images.

If you'd prefer I not use images of your vehicle, just tell me before I begin the work and I'll honor that. You can opt out on the intake form or by contacting me.

13. Satisfaction

I want you to be happy with the result. If something isn't right, contact me within 24 hours of the finished work and I'll do my best to make it right.

14. Authority to Agree

By agreeing to this Agreement, you represent that you own the vehicle, or that the owner has authorized you to agree to these terms on the owner's behalf. If that turns out not to be true, you agree to cover me for any resulting claims, losses, and costs (including reasonable attorney fees) brought by the owner or anyone else.

15. Severability

If a court finds any part of this Agreement unenforceable, the rest of it stays in effect.

16. Entire Agreement and Changes

This Agreement is the entire agreement between us about the services and replaces any earlier versions or side conversations. I may update it from time to time; the version that applies to your booking is the one in effect when you accept it. Any change we agree to for a specific job should be in writing (text or email is fine).

17. Governing Law and Venue

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Iowa. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Black Hawk County, Iowa.

18. How You Accept This Agreement

When you book online, checking the box that says you agree to this Agreement means you accept these terms, just as if you had signed them. The version of this Agreement you accepted is recorded with your booking. For in-person jobs, you also sign a short intake form that refers back to this Agreement.
